Wild Rhythms Movement Circles

Join a group of heart-centred wild women each week as we explore and express our embodied experience through movement and dance!

Come as you are. No dance experience necessary! You are invited to tune in to what’s alive in your body, mind, emotions and spirit, allowing this to move with your authentic rhythm, your unique body’s shape and instinctive movement. Moment to moment, breath by breath, you are invited to honour your inner impulse whether it prompts you to dance with flow, or to flail wildly or to rest quietly against the Earth.

Each circle begins with an opening and somatic embodiment practice followed by a free movement/dance journey. The circle concludes with a resting integration and optional closing share. Each week’s playlist varies, and music includes a wide range of moods, tempos and genres.

The Wild Rhythms series is centred around exploring how our personal and collective experiences shape the way we move our bodies, or don’t move our bodies. Our movement becomes shut down by emotional restrictions like fear or shame and over time, become embodied patterns of how we interact with the world. Becoming attuned to the language our body speaks through movement can enable us to shift patterns that limit our sense of safety, potential, worth, freedom and comfort in being our fully expressed selves. Becoming attuned to our bodies and learning to “unfreeze” stuck energy enables access to feminine gifts of creativity, intuition, emotional flow and re-birth.

I invite you to explore and express your inner wild through this practice and discover more about YOU and how you move with life.

We are more than the sum of our wounds. We need to focus on coming back to our bodies, beginning to repossess our instincts . . . This is how we heal.

Blending mystic arts and somatic practices, this offering includes:

  • Opportunities for deep connection to your authentic, wild self and a like-hearted community of women

  • Doorways into self-understanding and compassion

  • Free movement/dance journeys to eclectic, rhythmic music

  • Somatic practices that explore our individual and collective experience of being embodied as women through sensation, emotion, and movement

“The body is a multilingual being. It speaks through its colour and its temperature, the flush of recognition, the glow of love, the ash of pain, the heat of arousal, the coldness of non-conviction. It speaks through its constant tiny dance, sometimes swaying, sometimes a-jitter, sometimes trembling. It speaks through the leaping of the heart, the falling of the spirit, the pit at the centre, and rising hope. The body remembers, the bones remember, the joints remember, even the little finger remembers.

— Clarissa Pinkola Estés

You hold space in the circle so well and I am immediately calmed by your energy. It really helped me tap into my inner feminine and wild woman wisdom again. An incredible experience!
